Most of this website is written in third person, but for this section, I wanted to speak to you like I would in a newsletter.
Look, I get it. The world is crazy right now. No doubt, your email inbox is as crowded as mine. Why should you add my newsletter into the mix? It's a valid question.
Here's the answer I'll give:
A personal connection.
Those random ads from shopping centers (especially the one that tricked you onto its list)? They don't have that, and they're not interested in you.
This newsletter is a place for me to connect with readers and writers who love strong, deep stories. Stories that satisfy you. It's a way for people to support me as an author, for me to support my fellow authors, and to support my readers. To bless my readers.
Yes, I talk about my own stories. That's because I wrote these stories for you. Well, first for myself and the God who called me to write. But also, for the ones like me.
This newsletter is about stories.
My stories, your stories, and the Greatest Story of all. It's about writing and reading stories that help us live our part in the Greatest Story of all written by the Master Storyteller. Because I not only believe in the power of stories: I know the power of them. (Why else am I doing this crazy author thing?)
This newsletter is place about seeing beauty in the broken, finding glory in the gloom, loving in a loveless world. A place to write on the journey towards our real home, going further up and further in. And journeys always make for good stories. Because our lives are our journeys.
My hope and prayer is that this newsletter is a place for my fellow pilgrims. My fellow wanderers who are not lost. Who fight for the Mending. Who draw their sword against evil in the Prince's name. Who still believe in whimsy and goodness as strong as the Lion's Mane. Who believe in a Resurrection.
So only one question remains, my friend...
